Soni was born on the 20th of October 1964 in Lansing, MI. He grew up in Naperville, IL, Vienna, VA and Columbia, SC.
Soni is currently married with a child. He has 3 brothers, David, Michael and Steven, and 1 sister, Katie.
Soni started having drum lessons when he was about 13 or 14.
He joined Hootie & the Blowfish to take on from Brantley Smith as the drummer.
His favourite drink is Jim Beam, and his favourite food is chilli.
